Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Chevy Chase, MD seeks a Senior Manager, Collaboration Capabilities to lead a team of developers and analysts building custom tools between HHMI’s enterprise systems. The role blends hands-on coding with architectural leadership and vendor management to advance a collaboration platform and AI-enabled development.

You will set coding standards, oversee migrations, and drive AI-enabled workflows while partnering with Operational Capabilities and Enterprise

Competenze

• 8+ years building web applications and workflow automation for business users.
• Led a development team for 3+ years.
• Experience migrating or modernizing platforms without downtime.
• Judgement to build, buy, or retire AI/enterprise capabilities.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and reviews.
• Fluent in modern web stack: React/TypeScript/JS, Python; cloud data stores; CI/CD.
• Able to translate business needs into clear technical requirements.

Mansioni

• Lead the technical work: design, build, test, and deploy secure, maintainable apps and automations.
• Move the portfolio: reassess custom apps, re-platform, replace, or retire as HHMI migrates.
• Make AI-assisted development routine: integrate Claude Code and GitHub Copilot, define reviews.
• Decide what gets built and when; prioritize requests with leadership.
• Own technical relationships with partners and vendor products; renewals and evaluations.
• Build the team: hire, coach, set expectations, and upskill on Google’s platform and AI practices.
