Job summary

Amazon's Luna Streaming SIPS team seeks a Software Development Manager to lead engineers responsible for control-plane systems powering the cloud gaming platform.

You will own technical direction, architecture, and operational excellence for large-scale distributed systems, including routing, session management, and queuing across regions. You will hire and mentor engineers and collaborate with AWS teams to ensure high availability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• 8+ years leading the development of multi-tier web services.
• Knowledge of the full software/hardware/networks SDLC and live-site ops.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SIPS engineering team responsible for critical streaming control-plane systems.
• Own the technical vision, architecture, roadmap, and execution for distributed systems.
• Drive intelligent routing and capacity management for low-latency streaming.
• Own session lifecycle and queuing systems during demand spikes and failures.
• Plan capacity across GPU-based EC2 infrastructure across regions.
• Improve scalability, resiliency, and operational excellence.
• Partner with AWS teams to ensure readiness for major launches.
• Establish metrics for availability, latency, and utilization.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers with strong practices.
