Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Special Education department is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to strengthen internal operations, coordinating teams, projects, and administrative systems to stay aligned with center priorities.

You will lead planning and implement workflows, manage projects and AI-enabled tools, supervise staff, and coordinate hiring and onboarding for staff and student personnel. Start date is Nov 03, 2026; duration through Sep 30, 2027; 40 hours/week; Exempt from FLSA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, organizational leadership, project management, education, public administration, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in operations, project management, program administration, or a related role.
• Experience evaluating, implementing, or improving technology-supported workflows or systems.
• Ability to learn emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, with data protection and accessibility in mind.
• Experience managing complex projects with multiple timelines and stakeholders.
• Experience supervising staff and supporting team performance.
• Strong organizational, project management, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
• Beginner proficiency in American Sign Language or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Lead center-wide operational planning and continuous improvement with workflows, protocols, and systems.
• Lead high-level project management across center priorities with milestones and timelines.
• Support director with cross-team coordination, communications, and staff development.
• Supervise the Operations Manager and Access Coordinator and ensure effective coordination.
• Coordinate hiring, contracting, and onboarding for staff and student personnel.
• Serve as a liaison with UT and MCPER units to resolve operational issues and ensure follow-through.
• Provide coordination for major center-wide activities and events with clear accountability.
• Foster a collaborative culture with transparent communication and shared processes.
