Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking a Head of Business Development for HVAC to own large multi-location deals from first meeting to signed contract. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, remote in the USA or Canada.

You will close multi-location HVAC groups with a high annual quota and expand to additional locations and services after signing. The role requires a proven ability to move complex deals through long, consultative cycles and collaborate with strategy leadership to

• Track record of closing $1M+ annual deals with multi-location buyers.
• Experience selling to HVAC groups or multi-location service providers.
• Preference for long, consultative sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
• Comfort operating as an individual contributor with no direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end large deals: discovery, proposal, negotiation and close (3–12 months).
• Engage owners, regional operators and marketing leaders in decision-making.
• Expand: secure more locations and services after signing a group.
• Collaborate with strategists and leadership to build compelling proposals for key deals.

No direct reports. This is an individual contributor seat going after strategic, multi-location HVAC accounts: large groups you open and close yourself.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is an AI-first digital agency running websites, SEO and paid media for multi-location HVAC and home service groups. As Head of Business Development for HVAC, you own our largest multi-location HVAC deals, from the first meeting with ownership to the signed contract. One win covers many locations, so each deal is large, multi-stakeholder and worth the work. Our sales development team and inbound put qualified meetings with these groups on your calendar, so your time goes to closing.

The seat

• $2M annual quota, carried on a small number of large accounts.
• Leads fed to you: meetings with multi-location HVAC and home service groups, booked by our sales development team or inbound.
• No management. No team to build, hire or run.
• Strategic accounts: HVAC groups with many locations, where one signed deal covers the whole group and opens the next.

What You Will Own

• The full cycle on large deals: discovery, proposal, negotiation and close, over 3 to 12 months.
• Deals with owners, regional operators and marketing leaders all at the table.
• Expansion: more locations and more services once a group signs.
• Proposals built with our strategists and leadership for the deals that matter most.

What You Bring

• A record of closing $1M+ a year on large, multi-location or enterprise accounts.
• Selling into HVAC groups, or marketing and agency services to similar multi-location buyers.
• Long, consultative cycles with several decision makers. If your background is high-volume, single-location or one-call transactional sales, this is a different job.
• You would rather close business than manage people.
