The Role
As Head of Business Development, you’ll be responsible for building and executing our go-to-market partnership strategy. You’ll identify high-leverage growth opportunities, source and negotiate deals with strategic partners, and help define BetSmart’s B2B and B2B2C commercial ecosystem.
You’ll work directly with the COO to prioritize, operationalize, and scale initiatives that unlock new channels, enhance distribution, and accelerate monetization. This is a high-visibility role at the forefront of our growth engine.
We’re looking for a commercially-minded leader who combines strategic clarity, operational execution, and a deep understanding of the sports, betting, media, or data landscape.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Growth & Revenue Expansion
• Develop and own the business development roadmap aligned with company OKRs and revenue targets
• Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic growth initiatives across B2B, affiliate, media, and data verticals
• Collaborate with the COO on new markets, monetization opportunities, and go-to-market priorities
Partnership Sourcing & Deal Execution
• Source, negotiate, and close high-impact deals with sportsbooks, leagues, data providers, and media platforms
• Structure contracts that align incentives, minimize risk, and support long-term strategic value
• Own the full partner lifecycle — from outreach and diligence to onboarding and relationship management
Cross-Functional Leadership & Enablement
• Work cross-functionally with product, growth, legal, and marketing to launch and scale partnerships
• Surface insights and feedback from partners to inform product roadmap and strategic direction
• Ensure seamless integration and execution of deals to maximize ROI and partner satisfaction
Market Intelligence & Brand Positioning
• Represent BetSmart externally at industry events, pitch meetings, and strategic forums
• Monitor market dynamics, emerging trends, and whitespace to shape long-term BD strategy
• Serve as a public-facing champion of BetSmart’s value proposition and thought leadership
What You Bring
Experience
• 6–10 years in business development, partnerships, corporate development, or growth strategy
• Proven track record sourcing and closing multi-year, high-value partnerships with strategic or enterprise partners
• Experience in startups or high-growth environments within sports betting, fintech, SaaS, or media
• Familiarity with the regulatory and commercial landscape of the betting industry is a strong plus
Skills
• World-class negotiator and relationship builder with strong commercial instincts and high EQ
• Analytical decision-maker with ability to model deal economics, forecast value, and assess ROI
• Exceptional communicator able to tailor complex value propositions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proficient with CRM tools, sales pipelines, contract workflows, and KPI tracking systems
