Job summary

The Town of Mansfield is seeking a Director of Building and Housing Inspection to oversee and participate in building and housing code enforcement, plan review, and related activities in the Building and Housing Inspection Department. The role involves coordinating with the Town Manager, supervising staff, and maintaining records and reports.

The selected candidate must be a licensed Building Official at hire or appointment, complete ICC Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Exams within one

Qualifications

• A combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school with considerable experience in building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and zoning code enforcement and inspections.
• Supervisory experience and progressively responsible code enforcement work are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and participate in building and housing inspection, code enforcement and plan review activities.
• Coordinate work with Town Manager and other department directors.
• Staff supervision and preparation of records, files and reports.
