Job summary

Brookhaven National Laboratory seeks a Section Head for Beam Instrumentation & Controls within the FIP Directorate. The role leads engineering, procurement, installation, and lifecycle management of accelerator systems for EIC Project execution and long-term operations.

The candidate will oversee strategic planning, workforce development, and resource allocation to ensure safety, reliability, and high performance of complex systems, collaborating with project teams and external collaborators.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical/science discipline.
10+ years of progressively responsible technical experience in a scientific or large technical enterprise, with leadership/management experience.
Experience in Beam Instrumentation & Controls, Infrastructure Systems, RF, or related accelerator technologies.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership to design, build, and modernize the EIC accelerator complex.
Manage budgets, staffing, and resources to support division and project priorities.
Lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure safety, quality and compliance in all activities.
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver technical scope, plans, and schedules.
