Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant motion-control experience.
• Programming experience in C, C++, or Python.
• Linux operating environment experience and software engineering practices.
• Experience with version control, automated builds and testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the facility’s motion control strategy and standards.
• Collaborate with scientific, engineering, and technical staff to deliver software and motion control solutions for beamlines.
• Implement motion control systems for accelerator and beamline construction and upgrades.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Collaboratively develop software tools and services for NSLS-II.
