Who you are

You are a hands-on, entrepreneurial Director of B2B Sales to drive growth and lead our business-to-business sales team. This is a player/coach role, perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is comfortable switching between closing deals and managing a growing team. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of B2B sales experience, technical knowledge (or a strong willingness to learn), and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.

This is remote but role requires frequent travel to meet with contractors, attend on-site installations, and guide partners through our product’s technical aspects. As the team scales, you will be responsible for building, coaching, and supporting high-performing sales professionals while managing key reporting metrics.

What you'll do
  • Drive B2B Sales Growth: Lead all B2B sales efforts, develop strategic plans, and execute initiatives to meet revenue goals.
  • Player/Coach Role: Balance time between actively selling and managing the performance of the B2B sales team. Mentor, train, and develop team members to ensure success.
  • Contractor & Partner Collaboration: Build strong relationships with contractors and other key stakeholders, frequently traveling to job sites to provide technical support and product demonstrations.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and provide leadership with regular updates and actionable recommendations for optimization.
  • Team Expansion: Scale the sales team from its current size of 2 people, hiring and onboarding new talent as needed to support business growth.
  • Technical Knowledge & Training: Develop a deep understanding of our irrigation technology, acting as a resource for contractors and the sales team during installations and technical discussions.
  • Market & Customer Insights: Gather feedback from partners and customers to inform product development and identify opportunities for growth.
What you'll bring
  • 7+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally within a related industry (e.g., irrigation, construction, landscaping, or technical products).
  • Experience in a player/coach role, balancing direct sales with team management.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work on-site with contractors during installations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to adapt to uncertainty and drive results in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience working with technical products or industries (hands-on knowledge of irrigation systems is a plus).
