Job summary

Smithfield is seeking an Automation and Controls Engineering Manager to lead a talented team and shape the long-term technology roadmap for our Wisconsin production facilities. You will design and implement advanced automation solutions that improve hardware and software capabilities while driving cost efficiency and quality across Smithfield brands.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
Minimum 5+ years of automation-focused experience in manufacturing.
Minimum 2+ years in a leadership role (team or project leadership).
Experience developing distributed, networked control systems and IIoT solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication, planning, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the Future of Manufacturing Technology by shaping a forward-looking automation strategy.
Monitor technology trends and assess potential IIoT integrations for business impact.
Design standardized software and hardware architectures for automation systems.
