Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead and contribute to automation projects in our pork processing operations. You will translate complex requirements into robust control systems, manage suppliers, and support startup and training.

The role requires PLC/PAC programming, Ignition/Factory Talk View experience, and strong integration with MES/SCADA, with travel up to 50%. Bachelor's degree and 2+ years' experience preferred; relocation may be offered.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; 2+ years' relevant experience preferred.
• Proficient in PLC/PAC programming and industrial automation.
• Experience with Ignition and Factory Talk View platforms preferred.
• Knowledge of vision systems and programming helpful.
• Strong understanding of process and motor controls, instrumentation, and industrial networking.

Responsabilidades

• Develop preliminary engineering designs and device specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies and develop project cost estimates.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance to develop design specifications.
• Develop control applications and GUI/HMI graphics.
• Provide startup support, training, and vendor coordination.
• Oversee design and installation planning, scheduling, and documentation.
