Job summary

Atlas Search in New York seeks a Head of Asset Management for CRE Credit to own a growing portfolio of senior mortgages, construction/bridge loans, mezzanine debt, and CMBS investments, guiding them from closing through payoff.

Responsibilities include monitoring asset performance, covenants and credit risk; evaluating amendments and borrower requests; and leading workouts, restructurings and distressed situations.

Qualifications

• 6–15 years of CRE experience.
• Experience with debt funds, private credit platforms, mortgage REITs, banks or life companies preferred.
• Strong understanding of CRE loan documents and credit structures.
• Workout/restructuring experience strongly preferred.

Head of Asset Management - CRE Credit | New York, NY

I’m working with a newly launched, well-capitalized alternative investment firm focused on commercial real estate credit. The platform was founded by experienced institutional investors and launched with $1B+ of committed capital from major global institutional partners.

They are looking to hire a senior Asset Manager to take ownership of a growing portfolio of senior mortgages, construction/bridge loans, mezzanine debt, preferred equity and CMBS investments.

Responsibilities:

• Own and manage a portfolio of CRE debt investments from closing through payoff
• Monitor asset performance, borrower business plans, covenants and credit risk
• Evaluate amendments, extensions, waivers and borrower requests
• Lead/support workouts, restructurings and distressed situations
• Prepare portfolio reviews and recommendations for senior investment leadership
• Oversee third-party servicers and asset management partners
• Help build asset management processes and infrastructure as the platform scales

Ideal Background:

• 6–15 years of CRE experience
• Background from a debt fund, private credit platform, mortgage REIT, bank, life company or special servicer
• Strong understanding of CRE loan documents and credit structures
• Workout/restructuring experience strongly preferred
• Strong Excel and cash flow modeling skills
