Location: New York, NY (Hybrid: 3 days in-office)

Compensation: $250,000 – $350,000 base + discretionary performance bonus

The Mandate

Lead enterprise-wide AI strategy and execution for a premier alternative investment manager with ~$400Bn AUM. You will build production-grade AI solutions and drive direct operational adoption across Private Equity, Private Credit, and Real Assets; automating diligence pipelines, accelerating CIM analysis, and scaling portfolio intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

• AI Roadmap & Vision: Define and execute the firm’s multi-year AI strategy, prioritizing high-ROI use cases across deal sourcing, underwriting, and portfolio management.
• Build & Deploy: Architect, prototype, and ship production-ready AI applications, including custom RAG pipelines, LLM-based agentic workflows, and document-extraction engines for complex unstructured financial data.
• Firm-Wide Enablement: Partner directly with Managing Directors, Investment Committees, and operations leads to drive adoption and integrate AI tools into daily investment workflows.
• Governance & Risk: Implement enterprise guardrails for data privacy, model accuracy, hallucination prevention, and financial regulatory compliance.
• Infrastructure & Team: Select and manage vendor partnerships, oversee cloud compute/MLOps infrastructure, and scale a lean internal AI engineering capability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive technology/applied AI experience, with proven success leading and scaling AI/ML initiatives from prototype to production.
• Financial Services Background: Direct experience within alternative asset management, buy‑side firms, or investment banking. Solid understanding of deal workflows, credit/equity underwriting, and financial models.
• Hands-on Technical Command: Deep expertise in modern AI architectures (LLMs, fine‑tuning, RAG frameworks, vector stores) and cloud‑native engineering (Python, AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Enablement Track Record: Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change, train non-technical investment professionals, and achieve measurable adoption.
• Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Base Salary Range: $250,000 – $350,000
