Job summary

Lightsource bp is seeking a Vice President of Procurement, Americas to lead regional procurement and shape the commercial strategy for our utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. You will direct a team of five directors, align regional sourcing with global strategy, and drive supplier relationships, governance, and risk management across the Americas.

Qualifications

• 10+ years progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or commercial leadership.
• At least five years of experience leading teams at director level or above.
• Proven track record developing and executing procurement strategies for utility-scale energy, infrastructure, or complex capital projects.
• Significant utility-scale BESS and/or solar PV procurement experience.
• Deep knowledge of renewable energy equipment and supplier markets including batteries, inverters, modules, trackers, racking, and high-voltage equipment.
• Experience leading major commercial negotiations and managing complex contracts and multiyear frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of global sourcing, logistics, tariffs, trade compliance, imports/exports.
• Financial acumen across pricing models, inflation, indexation, and forecasting.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, STEM, or related field; MBA or CPSM/CSCP/CIPS preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel 10–20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Americas procurement organization, including five directors.
• Define and execute regional procurement strategy aligned with global priorities.
• Establish category strategies for BESS, solar PV, HV equipment, and other major categories.
• Lead complex, high-value negotiations with equipment, services, and multiyear frameworks.
• Develop sourcing strategies to optimize pricing, quality, delivery, and risk allocation.
• Strengthen supplier relationships and establish long-term partnerships.
• Monitor geopolitical, trade, tariff, regulatory, logistics developments and translate into strategies.
• Build supply chain resilience by identifying capacity constraints and single-source risks.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to support project development, diligence, and financial close.
• Establish procurement governance and performance standards; manage onboarding and contracts.
• Support investment tax credit and production tax credit qualification efforts through strategic procurement.
