Job summary

Lightsource bp in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Senior Manager to lead owner-side EPC procurement and commercial negotiations for utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects. You will manage the full lifecycle, from contractor qualification to contract negotiation and award recommendations.

You will collaborate with Development, Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Legal, Finance, and Safety to align terms with project scope, schedule, and risk objectives, while mentoring

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in procurement, contracts, commercial management, or project delivery.
• Three or more years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy, power generation, energy storage, or comparable projects.
• Experience developing RFPs, evaluating proposals, levelizing bids, and preparing award recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement and contracting for utility-scale solar PV and BESS EPC services.
• Develop procurement strategies and comprehensive EPC RFP packages.
• Manage bidder communications, contractor qualification, and competitive tender processes.
• Evaluate and level commercial and technical proposals, identify material differences, and prepare award recommendations.
• Lead commercial negotiations for limited notices to proceed, EPC agreements, O&M agreements, consulting agreements, service contracts, and exhibits.
• Partner with Legal, Engineering, Project Management, Construction, and other stakeholders to align contract terms with project scope and risk objectives.
• Evaluate contractor capabilities, financial strength, safety performance, execution history, and project capacity.
• Build and maintain relationships with leading EPC contractors.
• Monitor contractor availability, pricing trends, labor constraints, supply-chain conditions, and market developments.
• Advise project teams on EPC schedules, procurement milestones, long-lead requirements, and execution risks.
• Improve procurement processes, evaluation tools, templates, and contracting practices.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
