Job summary

Vista is seeking an Associate Director of AI Ops Engineering to design, build, and operate an agentic AI platform and production-ready applications. You will lead end-to-end implementation across architecture, data, interfaces, and infrastructure, collaborating with product and engineering to scale capabilities enterprise-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML platform architecture and development, with deep recent experience (2+ years) in generative AI and agentic architectures in production applications.
• Proven track record shipping AI applications to production, not just prototypes.
• Strong understanding of public cloud AI services and architecting vendor-agnostic solutions.
• Front-end engineering and UI/UX experience is a strong plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in private equity portfolio companies, consulting, or multi-client environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate agentic AI platform and applications across full stack—architecture, data, interfaces, and integrations.
• Define standards for agent development, prompts, autonomy, observability, and guardrails for production readiness.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to translate field patterns into reusable platform capabilities.
• Evaluate new models, frameworks, tooling, and architectures; translate findings into concrete build/buy/watch recommendations.
• Serve as a practitioner voice on generative AI and agentic systems, shaping platform direction with leadership.
