Job summary

Success Academy Charter Schools in New York seeks a visionary Head of AI Engineering to lead strategy, architecture, and deployment of AI across our network. You will build and coach an agile team of AI software engineers delivering high-impact, student-centered tools.

You will partner with executives and educators to define an AI roadmap, supervise end-to-end delivery, ensure FERPA compliance, and promote responsible AI practices across cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering leadership.
• 5+ years delivering production-grade AI-enabled features.
• Proficiency with LangChain/LlamaIndex, OpenAI, Anthropic, Vertex AI, Bedrock.
• Strong API design and cloud integration fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the network-wide AI strategy and roadmap.
• Build and mentor a high-performing AI software engineering team.
• Oversee architecture, agent design, RAG systems, and UI/UX touchpoints.
