Job summary

Success Academy Charter Schools in New York is seeking a visionary Head of AI Engineering to set the network-wide AI strategy and lead the architecture, tooling, and deployment of transformative AI solutions across our schools. You will build and mentor an agile team of AI software engineers to ship high-impact, user-centric tools that empower teachers and administrators.

• 7+ years in software leadership.

• Experience with LLM orchestration and AI tools.
• Strong cloud and API design fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Define the network-wide AI roadmap with leaders and product teams.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing AI software engineering team.
• Oversee design and integration of AI apps, agents and RAG systems.
• Deploy secure, high-availability AI services on AWS and GCP with CI/CD.
• Translate AI capabilities for non-technical stakeholders and drive adoption.
• Establish governance for responsible AI, FERPA compliance and safety.
