Job summary

Justworks, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, AI Enablement in New York City to lead a new IT Services function.

You will guide a small team of senior engineers, own our employee AI platform, and build agentic AI solutions that improve productivity and workflows across Justworks. You will drive engineering decisions, hire and mentor engineers, and ensure secure, reliable AI tools while enabling employees to create use-case driven applications.

Qualifications

• Significant software/AI platform engineering experience.
• 4+ years managing engineers with hiring and performance responsibility.
• Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications or agents.
• Understanding of agentic AI architectures and tool calling.
• Proficiency in Python or similar language; code review ability.
• Experience deploying production applications with CI/CD.
• Strong API design, authentication, authorization, and secure dev practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerized deployments.
• Ability to balance hands-on work with leadership and mentoring.
• Excellent communication for collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the AI Enablement team with a people-first approach.
• Define technical direction, priorities, and delivery processes.
• Remain hands-on in architecture, development, and debugging.
• Partner with Justworks stakeholders to translate business needs into solutions.
• Build a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the employee AI platform and agentful automation initiatives.
• Establish guardrails for data access, authentication, and responsible AI usage.
• Drive education, adoption, and measurable AI platform impact.
