Job summary

Meta in San Francisco seeks a Director of Product Design to shape agent-powered experiences across mobile, desktop, and emerging devices. You will set vision, translate complex agent capabilities into intuitive workflows, and prototype with code to test ideas.

You will lead cross-functional partners without formal authority, align roadmaps, and create reusable design systems and principles that scale. Deep strategic thinking and hands-on mentorship are essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in product design or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience setting product direction for complex, ambiguous products across multiple teams or organizations.
• Track record of shipping products or systems with measurable impact.
• Experience designing agentic, developer, productivity, platform, or other technically complex products.
• Experience creating high-fidelity prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate product direction.
• Experience influencing senior executives and cross-functional partners without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Set the product design vision and strategy for agent-powered work experiences across mobile, desktop, and new devices.
• Turn new agent capabilities into simple workflows with durable mental models and information architecture.
• Lead design across multiple workstreams and align roadmaps with senior leaders.
• Build high-fidelity prototypes, including code-based prototypes, to test interaction models and constraints.
• Create reusable principles, patterns, systems, and evaluation methods for agent experiences.
• Carry concepts through implementation and launch, refining based on user evidence and technical learning.
