Job summary

ProPetro Services, Inc. is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer to lead all accounting, reporting, and control functions. Reporting to the CFO, the CAO ensures GAAP accuracy, timely SEC filings, and strong internal controls while guiding the company through strategic growth.

The role requires 15+ years in accounting leadership, CPA, and experience with ASC 606/842, tax coordination, and external audits. Onsite in Midland or Tomball, TX, with travel to HQ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA license.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience with leadership responsibility.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
• Experience coordinating with Audit Committees, Boards, and external auditors.
• Onsite in Midland, TX or Tomball, TX with travel to HQ.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting, financial reporting, and controllership functions.
• Oversee Form 10-K, 10-Q, and SEC filings.
• Present non-GAAP measures and KPIs in earnings materials per Reg G and Reg S-K.
• Ensure timely financial statements in line with U.S. GAAP and SEC.
• Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation.
• Develop accounting policies for significant transactions and new standards (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805, ASC 718, ASC 280).
• Oversee ASC 740 income tax accounting with outside advisors.
• Maintain internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Support disclosures including CEO/CFO certifications under SOX 302/906; participate in Disclosure Committee.
• Partner with CFO and Audit Committee on reporting, governance, risk, and strategic initiatives.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, and capital markets activities.
• Drive accounting transformation and automation, including AI initiatives.
• Build and develop a high-performing accounting organization.
• Proactively identify issues and address before they surface.
