Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a Head Nurse to oversee patient care, staff management and daily operations within a nursing unit. The role emphasizes using the nursing process, patient advocacy, and collaboration with the Manager/Director/CNO to support hospital goals and safe, quality care.

The position requires RN licensure, BLS within 14 days of hire, and 2 years’ experience on a current unit or comparable setting. ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, review, and synthesize diagnostic data for patient care.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify department improvements and drive change.
• Respond to life threatening situations with guidance and direction.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and outcomes.
• Develop and implement innovative processes to improve patient outcomes.
• Participate in coaching, counseling, mentoring, hiring, firing, scheduling, payroll and productivity activities.
