Qualifications

• Possess all certificates required for the State of Wyoming.
• Possess current CPR certification.
• Possess current First Aid certification.
• Have fundamental knowledge of the sport.
• Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries course.
• Ability to select from a variety of instruction methods to teach activity objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop drill and practice activities that teach and enhance individual/team skill development.
• Develop and maintain an inventory list of equipment.
• Prepare and implement a schedule of checking out, maintaining, and checking in equipment.
• Plan and enforce appropriate safety and health rules and regulations.
• Develop a supervision plan that ensures safety and welfare of students at all times.
• Maintain confidentiality about students and others.
• Present a professional appearance.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, supervisors, peers and spectators.
• Receive, understand and follow directions.
• Model/demonstrate activities and equipment to develop basic skills.
• Observe, diagnose, and prescribe remediation during practice and games.
• Apply developmental stages of the game to team/players' needs.

JOB SUMMARY:

To instruct all students in the fundamental skills and knowledge of the sport or activity. To provide an atmosphere for successful individual development through monitoring, evaluating, and reinforcing.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 1. Ability to develop drill and practice activities that teach and enhance individual/team skill development that makes up the game.
• 2. Develop and maintain an inventory list of equipment.
• 3. Prepares and implements a schedule of checking out, maintaining, and checking in equipment.
• 4. Ability to plan and enforce appropriate safety and health rules and regulations.
• 5. Ability to develop a supervision plan that ensures the safety and welfare of students at all times: locker room, trips, practices, etc.
• 6. Maintains confidentiality about students and others.
• 7. Presents a professional appearance.
• 8. Ability to be an effective communicator with all audiences - players, parents, supervisors, peers and spectators.
• 9. Ability to receive, understand and follow directions.
• 10. Be able to model/demonstrate activities and equipment used to develop basic skills or physical condition.
• 11. Ability to observe, diagnose, and prescribe appropriate remediation activities during practice and game conditions for players and team.
• 12. Must know and be able to apply the developmental stages of each point of the game to the needs and ability levels of the team/players.
• 13. Assimilate innovations and adapt to changes when applicable.
• 14. Support the philosophies of Park County School District #6.
• 15. May be responsible for supervising students on out-of-town activities. This may involve staying overnight.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

All Sports

• 1. Ability to sit on a bus for hour after hour.
• 2. Ability to carry and/or provide aid to an injured player.

Nordic Skiing

• 1. Ability to demonstrate various skills and describe verbally, as well.
• 2. Ability to hear and be heard outdoors for up to 50 yards.
• 3. Ability to assist and move an injured participant to safety.
