Job summary

Uxbridge Public Schools Whitin Intermediate School in Uxbridge, MA is seeking a Middle School Boys Basketball Coach to lead grades 6 and 7 teams starting Winter 2026. This stipend position requires availability for practices and games; travel is required for away contests, with schedule set by the athletic director.

The Head Coach will develop players’ fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and work ethic, while preparing them for future high school competition and fostering a positive program

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of basketball fundamentals and team concepts.
• Ability to work effectively with middle school student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily practices for middle school players.
• Teach fundamental basketball skills and team concepts; lead drills and conditioning.
• Develop age-appropriate offensive and defensive strategies.
• Prepare student-athletes for high school competition.
• Ensure safety and supervision during practices and travel.
• Collaborate with high school staff to align player development goals.
