Job summary

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of related coaching experience, and CPR/AED/First Aid certification. Occasional travel and supervision of games are expected in a school athletic program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED); Two years of related experience; CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.
• Knowledge of effective coaching techniques; thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, parents, and students.
• Skill-based competencies include working well with diverse backgrounds; resolving conflict; maintaining confidentiality; building positive team spirit; leading/motivating adolescent students.
• Ability-based competencies include comprehending instructions and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and demonstrates skill sets/techniques for individual and team achievement.
• Works with Athletic Director in planning and developing practice and game schedules, activities, and training programs.
• Maintains necessary records and forms (insurance, attendance, medical); completes required paperwork and team statistics.
• Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles; supervises students at home and away games.

Education
