JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Harrisburg Athletics is seeking candidates for the position of Head Men's Lacrosse Coach. This role reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for developing, implementing, overseeing, and operating the college's new NCAA Division III varsity men's lacrosse program. Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, budgeting, scheduling, fundraising, and managing the intercollegiate program within Penn State and NCAA policies and principles.

The Coach/Coordinator will be responsible for:

• Ensuring compliance with university policies, state laws, NCAA, and conference rules, including required clearances.
• Overseeing assistant coaches, staff, boosters, and student-athletes, verifying compliance, and self-reporting violations.
• Recruiting, evaluating, and retaining prospective student-athletes.
• Coordinating practice planning, skill development, and coaching strategies.
• Supporting athletic program coordination and execution.
• Training and supervising athletic staff; developing manuals and internship programs.
• Implementing marketing and advertising plans; promoting camps, clinics, and events.
• Maintaining safety policies, enforcing safety practices, and keeping certifications current.
• Recommending purchases to support athletic programming.
• Managing sports equipment, inventory, and maintenance.
• Supporting the strategic plan and managing budgets within university guidelines.

Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Clearances:

• PA State Police Criminal Background Check
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance
• Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
