An established industry player in collegiate athletics is seeking a Head Coach for Men’s Basketball. This pivotal role involves not only the strategic development and execution of practice and game plans but also the crucial recruitment of academically qualified student-athletes. Head Coach for Men’s basketball, and responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting of prospective student-athletes, planning and executing practices, scouting of opponents, practice and game preparation, contest scheduling, budget preparation, and fundraising. There is a strong emphasis on the recruitment of academically qualified student-athletes. The Head Men’s Basketball Coach will also support the Assistant Director of Athletics with NCAA Compliance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coaching Duties •Develop and implement effective practice and game strategies •Schedule and organize games, with approval from the Director of Athletics. •Communicate schedules to athletes and department personnel as required •Works with Athletics and Admissions’ staff to develop and implement recruiting strategies and programs to identify and attract promising student-athletes •Maintain contact with promising athletes and provide prompt follow-up to inquiries from potential athletes •Recruit and maintain a full roster of 15 Student-Athletes •Coaching responsibilities are 80% of position requirements
Compliance Duties:
•Compliance: Under the supervision/direction of the Director of Athletics, monitor transfers per NCAA, Conference and University bylaws •Compile Student-Athlete Grades for NCAA eligibility •Coordinate the completion of Student-Athlete pre-participation NCAA required compliance. •Compliance responsibilities are 20% of position requirements

Education/Experience
Bachelors Degree Required, Master’s Degree preferred and a minimum of five years teaching/administrative experience at the college level.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with the personal computer.
Language Skills
Effective written and verbal communication is essential. Ability to articulate athletic policies and procedures. Ability to respond to and deal with varied constituencies.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to develop budgetary, demographic and other reports that may require mathematical computations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to gather, organize, interpret and present information for reports. Ability to respond to crisis and emergencies. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Interpersonal Skills
Ability to supervise and evaluate coaching performances. Ability to interact with students on a one-to-one basis as well as in groups. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others.
