Job summary

Christiansburg High School in Christiansburg, VA is seeking a Head JV Wrestling Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The role requires leadership of a high quality program, emphasis on fundamentals, and maintaining strong safety standards.

The coach will monitor academic progress to ensure eligibility and report to the Athletic Director and Principal. Prior coaching experience and VHSL education courses are preferred; CPR certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be age 21 or older.
• VHSL coach-education courses required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students and administrators.
• Ability to motivate students.
• Dependable and punctual with regular on-site attendance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a high quality athletic program emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork and safety.
• Monitor academic performance to ensure eligibility requirements are met.
• Lead training and development for JV wrestling with a focus on sportsmanship.
• Coordinate with Athletic Director and Principal to align with school goals.
