Job summary

Lunenburg County Public Schools Central High School in Victoria, Virginia seeks a part-time High School JV Boys Basketball Head Coach to lead practice and game strategy, ensure athlete fitness, and uphold high standards of sportsmanship.

The role requires a Collegiate Professional License, 3+ years of coaching experience, and demonstrated sportsmanship and integrity with students and staff. Reports to the Athletic Director/Principal; contract includes coaching duties per School Board policies.

Qualifications

• Have had at least three years of successful coaching experience.
• Demonstrated skills by personal participation in the sport.
• Demonstrated skills in working effectively with students and staff in athletic programs.
• Demonstrated abiding interest in the sport assigned.
• Person of unquestionable morals and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Foster the highest level of sportsmanship among coaches, athletes, spectators, and officials.
• Coordinate the work of any assistant coach(s) to develop an effective staff.
• Organize and supervise all practice sessions for the teams.
• Ensure players are physically fit before engaging in competition.
• Develop and manage an evaluation process for team membership.
