Job summary

Cobb County School District in Marietta, GA seeks a Groundskeeper, Head to manage grounds maintenance across district facilities. You will supervise a team of groundskeepers, plan daily tasks, and ensure safe operation of all equipment while meeting district standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Georgia driver’s license, and at least one year of lawn care or landscaping experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Georgia driver’s license required.
One year of lawn care/landscaping experience preferred.
Able to lift and transport 75 pounds and perform physical tasks.
Strong written and oral communication; leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
Provides direction to assigned Groundskeeper and completes assigned work in a timely manner.
Provides feedback to Maintenance Supervisor on non-performance issues.
Promotes good relations and a positive image with customers, the public and peers.
Completes and submits all paperwork for computerized maintenance databases and to meet State/local requirements.
Maintains proper parts inventory on district vehicle and returns overages to inventory.
Cares for vehicles and equipment per manufacturer instructions and maintains maximum usage.
Plans and completes cleaning, inspection, maintenance and installation of equipment.
Initiates and completes assigned projects on time and accurately.
Reports safety issues to appropriate administrator.
Performs other duties as assigned by administrator.
