Job summary

Beaver Brook Golf and Country Club seeks a Head Golf Professional to lead the Pro Shop and outside operations, collaborating with the Operations Manager to deliver an exceptional member and guest experience.

The role requires PGA Class A, 3–5 years in a private club setting, staff supervision, event organization, merchandising, and strong member relationships; you will manage tournaments, tee sheets, and the club’s POS system.

Qualifications

  • PGA of America Class A member in good standing; membership preferred.
  • 3–5 years of progressive golf-professional experience, preferably in a private club.
  • Experience leading day-to-day golf operations including tournaments, events, tee sheets, and outside operations.
  • Experience with golf-shop merchandising, inventory management and basic financial/budget responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to build strong member relationships and provide high levels of service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage schedules for Pro Shop and outside staff.
  • Hire, train, supervise, manage, and motivate staff to provide exceptional service.
  • Organize and conduct club tournaments, leagues, outings and outside events.
  • Communicate effectively with members regarding golf and course information and deadlines.
  • Ensure driving range and facilities are prepared for member and guest use.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and track golf cart fleet maintenance.
  • Work with Golf Course Superintendent to communicate schedules and course conditions.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for staff and train on POS usage.
  • Ensure course is properly marked and prepared for play, tournaments, and events.
  • Plan and direct all golf activities and programs.
  • Maintain records for locker rentals, trail/storage fees, and unlimited cart program.
  • Assist with member communications including newsletters and announcements.
  • Promote golf and maintain professionalism and positive attitude.

Overview

The Head Golf Professional will work closely with the Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the golf shop and related personnel. The Head Golf Professional is responsible for providing an exceptional golf experience and maintaining a consistently high level of service for Beaver Brook Golf and Country Club members and their guests.

Experience Required
  • PGA of America Class A Member in good standing; PGA membership preferred but not necessarily required for an exceptional candidate.
  • 3-5 years of progressive golf-professional experience, preferably including experience in a private club environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading day-to-day golf operations, including tournaments, member events, tee sheets, outside operations and staff supervision.
  • Experience with golf-shop merchandising, inventory management and basic financial/budget responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to build strong member relationships, provide quality instruction and programming, and deliver a high level of personalized service.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage schedules for Pro Shop and outside staff.

  • Ensure the driving range and appropriate golf facilities are properly prepared and ready for member and guest use.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and track golf cart fleet maintenance and repair needs.
  • Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to communicate tournament schedules, events, course conditions, delays, closures, and other pertinent information.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for staff under your supervision.
  • Train staff and ensure proper and accurate use of the club's P.O.S. system.
  • Ensure the golf course is appropriately marked and prepared for daily play, tournaments, and special events.
  • Plan, promote, coordinate, and direct all golf activities and programs.
  • Maintain accurate records for the club regarding locker rentals, trail and storage fees, and the unlimited cart program.
  • Work with the Office Manager to address and resolve member-related questions and concerns.
  • Assist with preparing communications to the membership, including newsletters, eblasts, tournament information, and other golf-related announcements.
  • Enthusiastically promote the game of golf while maintaining a high level of professionalism, service, and a positive attitude toward members, guests, and staff.
  • Foster a welcoming and enjoyable golf environment that encourages member participation and supports the continued growth of the game of golf at Beaver Brook.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Operations Manager to enhance the overall member and guest experience.
