Job description

St. Petersburg Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Head Coach for Girls Lacrosse to lead a growing program rooted in integrity, sportsmanship, and excellence. This coach will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the lacrosse program—from skill development and team culture to administrative responsibilities and parent communication.

We’re looking for a coach who will serve not only as a teacher of the game but also as a mentor and leader—helping student-athletes grow on and off the field as representatives of our school’s values.

Primary Responsibilities

• Build a team culture that reflects the Catholic mission and values of SPC.
• Serve as a positive role model, fostering responsibility, leadership, and respect among student-athletes.
• Promote an inclusive, encouraging, and competitive team environment.
• Organize and execute effective practices focused on individual skill development, tactical understanding, and team cohesion.
• Develop and implement offseason conditioning programs and preseason training.
• Evaluate and track player progress and provide regular, constructive feedback.
• Coordinate all game-day responsibilities including rosters, lineups, strategy, and sideline management.
• Maintain open and timely communication with athletes, parents, school staff, and the athletic department.
• Coordinate transportation, equipment needs, uniforms, and scheduling.
• Assist with the promotion of the program via school and social media platforms.
• Ensure full compliance with FHSAA regulations and school policies.
• Monitor academic progress of student-athletes and promote strong classroom habits.
• Supervise assistant coaches, volunteers, and team managers, as needed.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic, dependable, and supportive of the mission of St. Petersburg Catholic High School.

• Must pass a Level II background check and complete Diocesan Safe Environment Training.
