Campus Description: Elgin ISD is a fast growth District of Innovation located in Elgin, TX, just 19 miles East of Austin on Hwy 290. We are a 5A district with 5 elementaries, 1 intermediate school, 1 middle school, 1 high school and 1 alternative high school.
We offer students a progressive, comprehensive academic and extracurricular experience including a well-developed CTE program and Early College High School (in partnership with Austin Community College). Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:
Direct and manage the overall program of extracurricular and intramural athletics for high school boys. Work to provide each student with an opportunity to participate in an extracurricular athletic activity and ensure compliance with all state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and local requirements. Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and the ability to excel in the sport assigned. Contribute to the educational program as a whole and to the growth of students involved in athletics.
Qualifications: Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
Current first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate
Clear and valid Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements (optional)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of the overall operations of an athletic program
Knowledge of state and UIL policies governing athletics
Ability to implement policies and procedures
Ability to interpret data
Ability to manage budget and personnel, and coordinate district functions
General Knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical (including if bus driving duties are required)
Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Experience as a head coach or coordinator preferred, but not required
Three to five years of successful teaching and coaching experience
Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience
