Position Title: Head Coach
Reports To: Director of Athletics
Supervises: Assistant Coaches
Season: Fall
Position Summary
Summary:
The head coach oversees and coordinates competitive athletic teams in compliance with Illinois High School Association (IHSA) rules, Board of Education policies, and District 220 practices, serving as a role model for student-athletes and staff while fostering strong community and inter-school relationships. This role provides leadership, mentorship, and supervision for assistant coaches and student-athletes while developing strategies and practice regimens to enhance teamwork, sportsmanship, and athletic skills. It ensures program continuity across all levels, recognizes achievements and collaborates with the Athletic Director on staffing and personnel matters. Additional responsibilities include monitoring student eligibility, organizing student and parent programs, supporting college recruitment, and managing budgets.
Qualifications:
