Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in Houston, Texas, seeks a dedicated Custodial Supervisor to lead daily cleaning operations across the campus, ensuring safety, security, and high standards of cleanliness throughout the school year.

You will train custodians, manage schedules, open/close the building, set up facilities for events, maintain inventory, report unsafe conditions, and coordinate with administration to support students and staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a clear and valid Texas driver's license.
• Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in custodial work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily cleaning by directing custodians on campus.

• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and order more as needed.
• Assist with lunchroom setup by arranging tables and chairs.
• Move furniture or equipment as directed by principal.
• Open and close the building daily.
• Oversee lock, check, and safeguarding procedures.
• Check exit doors and panic bolts during occupancy.
• Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report non-correctable conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Area Manager, Supervisor(s), or Director.

Essential Functions

• Supervise the daily cleaning of the building by directing and monitoring the work of custodians at the campus.
• Train custodians in proper cleaning procedures and care and maintenance of custodian equipment.
• Maintain security of the building in the absence of school administrators.
• Perform routine custodial tasks as a working supervisor.
• Direct and assist in setting up facilities for special events.
• Implement and maintain established cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
• Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash.
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and order additional supplies as needed.
• Assist with lunchroom setup, including arranging tables and chairs.
• Move furniture or equipment within the building as directed by principal.
• Assume responsibility for opening and closing the building each day.
• Oversee procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
• Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during hours of building occupancy.
• Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and immediately report any conditions that are not correctable.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Area Manager, Supervisor(s), or Director.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
