Job summary

Orange County Schools, overseeing 328 - Grady A Brown Elementary School in Hillsborough, North Carolina, seeks a Facility Manager/Head Custodian to lead environmental services and maintenance for day and evening activities.

Responsibilities include supervising custodians, coordinating cleaning schedules, basic repairs, opening/closing buildings, and preparing facilities for events. Starting immediately; Grade 58 with a 7% supplement and $250 monthly supplement.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school.
• Minimum of five (5) years of custodial experience.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid driver’s license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily cleaning schedule for direct reports.
• Assign tasks fairly according to activities.
• Check supply inventory and place orders.
• Facilitate weekend overtime as applicable.
• Prepare the school for events and open/close buildings.
• Operate cleaning equipment and perform basic repairs.
• Respond to calls for clean-up from the front office.
• Ensure sidewalks and entryways are cleared of snow and ice.
