Qualifications

• General knowledge of the standard methods, materials, and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Some knowledge of cleaning procedures and the use of cleaning materials.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in completing work assignments.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
• Has proven attendance record.
• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps sidewalks and walkways, polices grounds, and handles snow/de-icing as needed.
• Cleans floors: sweeps, mops, vacuums, strips, waxes and buffs surfaces.
• Cleans bathrooms: toilets, mirrors, sinks, urinals, paper/towel dispensers, disinfects as needed.
• Empties trash and recycles materials.
• Dusts furniture, walls, window sills, blinds and woodwork.
• Cleans windows, walls, woodwork, blinds and light fixtures.
• Cleans drinking fountains and maintains storage areas.
• Moves furniture and assists with room setups as required.
• May open/secure buildings and adjust climate controls at start/end of day.
