Overview
Under the direction of the corps officer, the maintenance supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of employees in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment of the Bushwick Corps. The maintenance supervisor is also responsible for maintaining electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems within the Bushwick Corps property and building.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and assigns the work of maintenance employees and volunteers.
- Performs general maintenance of all Salvation Army property, including parking lot areas and building upkeep.
- Receives all deliveries, ensuring they are securely packed and stored properly.
- Performs various clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Performs minor repairs such as ceiling and tile repairs, leak stops, etc.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the front of the building, keeping the area free of garbage.
- Updates inventories and supplies as needed, as approved by the corps.
- Coordinates or performs installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and related systems across all department locations, as approved by the corps.
- Performs general repairs such as painting, patching walls, installing security hardware, hanging shelves, and landscaping.
- Coordinates renovations of existing facilities and construction of new ones.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Two or more years of experience in general maintenance or related responsibilities, including recognizing electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failures.
- Training beyond high school in general maintenance and repair or a closely related field.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
