Job summary

Monticello Public Schools seeks a Head Custodian for Pinewood Elementary to provide custodial leadership and skilled maintenance. The role runs Monday through Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm, supporting a clean, safe learning environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities include supervising custodial staff, coordinating time off and substitutes, energy management, and working with the Building and Grounds Director on budget and contractor coordination. Minnesota licensure is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Minnesota driver's license required.
• Experience in lead supervisory custodial roles is preferred.
• Experience in an education setting is preferred.

Job Summary

Provide custodial support, advanced mechanical repairs, and leadership skills for the School District in order to provide a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment for students and staff. Review the job description attached for details.

Education/Certification Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Minnesota driver's license required.

Experience

• Previous lead supervisory custodial experience preferred or other related experience required.
• Previous experience in education setting preferred.
• Provides work direction for custodial staff at building site,responsible for coordinating time off request and obtainsubstitutes when required
• Responsible for energy management systems and safety issues at building site; must comply with all district policies regarding asbestos, right-to-know and air quality
• Assist Building and Grounds Director withsupervising and working with outside contractors
• Perform all general maintenance of building and grounds
• Responsible for maintaining all equipment
• Must maintain outdoor grounds, including parking lots, sidewalks and doors in winter and lawn/landscaping in summer
• Orders materials and supplies/maintains inventory
• Assist Building and Grounds Director withbuilding maintenance budget and record keeping
• Works well with administrative staff, teachers, cooks, building staff, community education, other custodians and community members
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students,families and staff
• Experience working with diverse students and families
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occassionally lift 75 - 100 pounds
