Responsibilities

• Keep building and premises clean, including entrances, sidewalks, driveways, and courtyard.
• Perform cleaning tasks: vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, trash removal, restroom and break room cleaning.
• Oversee custodial staff, monitor work, and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Assist with minor maintenance and building repairs as needed.

Job description

We are seeking to hire aUnion Head Custodian in Mahwah, NJ. You will be responsible for keeping the building and premises, including sidewalks and play areas, neat and clean at all times. Perform building maintenancetasks, including vacuuming, mopping, sweeping floors, removing trash, cleaning restrooms and break rooms,and other miscellaneous duties to ensure that the building and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. The ideal candidate will have a professional attitude & appearance and be self-motivated, hardworking, dependable, and responsible.

Job Requirements

• Must be able to follow instructions from the supervisor and complete all tasks effectively.
• Hold a Black Seal Boiler Operators License or obtain one immediately.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Reliable Transportation.
• Be able to use machines, such as auto scrubbers, floor machines, snow blowers, and leaf blowers.
• Be able to set up lunch tables and events when needed
• Good verbal and written communication.
• Basic computer skills.
• Oversee custodial staff, assign tasks, and monitor the completion of work to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Maintaininventoryofcleaningsuppliesandequipment,ensuringthatallnecessary materialsareavailableforstaff.
• Be able to perform minor maintenance and building repairs
