Job summary

Taher, Inc. is seeking a Head Cook to join our team in Tulsa, OK. You will cook and prepare a variety of food using standardized recipes, and you will lead a small kitchen staff to ensure meals meet quality standards and are served on time.

The role requires effective leadership, strong communication, and the ability to manage cost, inventory and safety standards, including HACCP. A ServSafe certificate is preferred, and a background check is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of prior school food service experience preferred.
• Strong communication with employees and client.
• Ability to follow directions and lead a small team.
• Prioritize, plan and manage time efficiently.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand long periods.
• Maintain confidentiality of student, staff and parent information.
• ServSafe certificate preferred.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares a variety of food through standardized recipes.
• Ensure meals meet quality standards and are prepared on time.
• Direct food service staff and substitutes in prep, set up, and serving.
• Prepare and cook menu items for regular and a la carte lines.
• Lead a small staff and provide direction and training.
• Monitor equipment temperatures and HACCP standards.
• Manage ordering, receiving, storing and inventory of perishables.
• Control costs and waste; monitor budget and costs.
• Establish monthly food and labor cost goals.
• Promote nutrition education in school and community.
• Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
