A leading school district is seeking a Head Cook/Kitchen Manager for Jefferson Village School. This position involves overseeing all aspects of food production, adhering to safety regulations, and managing kitchen staff within a school environment. Head Cook/ Kitchen Manager - Jefferson Village School
Central Lincoln County Schools - AOS 93
This is a 40-hour position during the school year.
Pay rate is determined by scale according to experience and is set by the Superintendent.
Summary : Responsible for all aspects of food production, preparation, and serving meals smoothly and efficiently. Following food safety and sanitation guidelines, as well as controlling food costs and scheduling guidelines, while following all USDA regulations for the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Hold Criminal History Records Check or have the ability to attain CHRC.
Hold Current Servsafe Manager Certification or willing to become certified within a reasonable time of employment.
Cooking experience and working in a food service program are preferred.
Responsibilities :
Ability /willingness to learn and follow all federal, state, and local rules and regulations in relation to the School Nutrition Program.
Ability/willingness to read, follow, and convert recipes.
Ability/ willingness to prepare and serve meals.
Supervises and participates in food preparation and ensures all areas related to the kitchen are clean and sanitary.
Ability/willingness to work and communicate appropriately with students, staff, and the public. Maintain the confidentiality of student and staff information
Plan and supervise schedules for the kitchen staff.
Perform the following bookkeeping duties: lunch counts, count and prepare money for deposit, and maintain local and state reports.
Ability/willingness to prepare inventory of commodities, food and supplies also turn in inventory and invoices into the Nutrition Director in a timely manner.
Ability/willingness to maintain accurate food service records, production records, and student roster sheets.
Order food and supplies in a timely manner.
Ensure that all equipment is in safe working condition and notify the appropriate authority when repair is needed.
Complete 10 hours of Professional Standards yearly as well as attend monthly meetings.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
