Job summary

Waconia Public Schools is seeking a Head Cook to coordinate building food production operations and lead food service staff for students, following health and safety rules and district policies at an assigned site. Under the Director of Nutritional Services, the role involves preparing, serving, storing, and cleaning food items and meals, ensuring quality and efficiency across daily operations.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and ideally experience in production kitchen

Our school district located near the banks of Lake Waconia and approximately 25 miles west of Minneapolis, Waconia Public Schools servesapproximately 4,000 students and their families from the communities of Waconia, Victoria, Minnetrista, Saint Bonifacius, and New Germany. School District facilities include an educational services and enrichment center, area learning center, three elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8), and one high school (9-12).

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 2:30pm (Full-time during the school year)

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Nutritional Services, the Head Cook is responsible for coordinating building food production operations and food service staff engaged in the handling; serving; preparation; storage and cleaning of food items and meals for students in accordance with health and safety rules and district policies and procedures at an assigned site.

Qualifications:

A High School diploma or GED is required. Experience in a Production Kitchen Management is preferred.

Compensation:

An hourly rate from $20.09 to $27.10 depending upon qualifications as outlined in the Nutritional Services Collective Bargaining Agreement plus a full-time benefits package that starts on day one of employment.

October 19th, 2026
