Job summary

Waconia Public Schools is seeking a Café 110 Assistant to manage Point of Sale software and support Nutritional Services operations for the district. You will communicate with parents, students and staff about meal accounts and maintain vending inventory and supplies.

The role includes year-end reports, basic administrative tasks, and collaboration with the Nutritional Services team in a full-time daytime schedule during the school year.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in production kitchen preferred.
• Strong computer literacy and willingness to learn new technology.
• Experience with multiple software systems or POS is helpful; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate Point of Sale software to ensure student information is accurate.
• Communicate with parents, students, employees and outside organizations about meal accounts.
• Maintain vending machine inventory and order supplies.
• Manage and perform maintenance to student lunch accounts.
• Prepare year-end food reports and provide general administrative support for Nutritional Services.

Our school district located near the banks of Lake Waconia and approximately 25 miles west of Minneapolis, Waconia Public Schoolsservesapproximately 4,000 students and their families from the communities of Waconia, Victoria, Minnetrista, Saint Bonifacius, and New Germany. School District facilities include an educational services and enrichment center, area learning center, three elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8), and one high school (9-12).

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 2:30pm (Full-time during the school year)

Job Summary:

Under the guidance of the Director of Nutritional Services, the Café 110 Assistant is responsible for managing and Point of Sale software (e.g., Wordware) to ensure all student information is accurate and updated; communicating with all department customers including parents, students, employees and outside organizations regarding meal accounts, maintaining inventory of vending machines and ordering supplies for vending machines; managing and performing maintenance to student lunch accounts; performing year end food reports and providing general administrative support services for Nutritional Services.

Qualifications:

A High School diploma or GED is required. Experience in a Production Kitchen is preferred. Technology & Computer Skills: Requires strong computer literacy and a willingness to learn new technology. Experience with multiple software systems, databases, spreadsheets, or point-of-sale systems is helpful, but training will be provided.

Compensation:

An hourly rate from $18.91to $24.80depending upon qualifications as outlined inthe Nutritional Services Collective Bargaining Agreement plus a full-time benefits package that starts on day one of employment.
