Paterson Public School District 051 EAST SIDE HIGH SCHOOL in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Part-Time Head Coach for Indoor Track (Boys & Girls) for the winter season from Dec 1, 2026 to March 8, 2027. Applicants must hold a NJ teaching certificate or substitute certificate and be CPR/AED certified, with annual renewal of concussion and heat wellness certificates.

Coaching experience is preferred, and new coaches have one year to complete a Sports First Aid course; alternatives may be accepted.

Qualifications

• New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate; proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder
• Coaching experience preferred, but not required
• Must be available daily during the winter sports season
• Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both
• Must obtain a Concussion Awareness and Wellness certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually
• Must obtain a Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually
• All new coaches will have one year after being hired to complete a course in Sports First Aid
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate
• All postings are open for ten consecutive days following the posting date

Responsibilities

• Coaching the Head Coach Indoor Track for Boys & Girls during the winter season
• Oversee seasonal practice and competition safety and preparedness
• Collaborate with school athletics staff and administrators
• Ensure CPR/AED and health-certifications are up to date
