Job summary

Orangetheory Fitness South Lyon is seeking a Head Fitness Coach to lead a high-energy team and elevate the member experience. You will work with Studio Manager and Owners to drive success, recruit and mentor coaches, and maintain outstanding class experiences with at least 15 sessions weekly.

The role requires a fitness certification from an approved provider, AED/CPR, and strong communication skills. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity with growth potential within the Orangetheory network.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience coaching in personal or group settings
• Fitness certification from an approved provider (ACE/ACSM/ISSA/NASM/NSCA)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• AED/CPR certification current
• Understanding of strength and heart-rate based training

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Leadership: Partner with the Studio Manager and Owners to ensure studio success and growth.
• Build and Develop a Team: Hire, mentor, and develop a dynamic team of fitness professionals.
• Lead the In-Studio Experience: Ensure engaging, energetic member experiences with at least 15 classes per week.
• Handle Administrative Duties: Perform up to 15 hours of admin tasks weekly.
• Stay Actively Involved: Attend at least one class per week to lead by example.
• Create Member Connections: Build meaningful relationships and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
• Master Exercise & Equipment Usage: Demonstrate proficiency with all studio exercises and equipment.
• Performance Oversight: Analyze results and guide coaches to help members reach goals.

Head Fitness Coach Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Leadership: Partner with the Studio Manager and Owners to ensure the overall success and growth of the studio.
• Build and Develop a Team: Hire, mentor, and develop a dynamic team of fitness professionals, fostering a positive and energetic coaching environment.
• Lead the In-Studio Experience: Ensure consistent execution of engaging, energetic, and results‑driven member experiences, delivering a minimum of 15 classes per week.
• Handle Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks for up to 15 hours per week to support studio operations.
• Stay Actively Involved: Take part in at least one class per week to support, guide, and lead by example for your team of coaches.
• Create Member Connections: Build meaningful relationships with members, fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
• Master Exercise & Equipment Usage: Demonstrate proficiency with all exercises and equipment used in the studio, ensuring coaches and members are trained and confident in its application and understand alternative options.
• Performance Oversight: Analyze results, oversee team performance, and guide coaches in helping members set and achieve their personal health and fitness goals.

Are you Qualified?

• Currently fitness certified from an education company approved by Orangetheory Fitness.
  • ACE, ACSM, ISSA, NASM, NSCA
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current AED/CPR certification
• Have a functional understanding of strength and heart rate‑based training
• Have a desire for growing your career in the fitness industry
• Experience coaching, either in a personal or group fitness setting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
