Our client, a premier hospitality and events venue in Upington, is seeking a Head Cleaner to lead the cleaning and housekeeping team. You will oversee daily operations, train staff, and ensure hygiene and presentation standards across banquet halls, guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on supervision, and a detail-oriented approach to schedules, safety, and inventory.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in housekeeping supervision within hospitality.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of cleaning chemicals and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and schedule cleaning staff with adequate coverage.
• Develop cleaning checklists and procedures for all areas.
• Inspect premises for cleanliness, safety, and quality standards.
• Manage inventory of supplies, linens, and equipment.
• Oversee proper use and maintenance of cleaning machinery.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Respond to guest/event cleaning requests and resolve issues.
• Lead by example with a professional attitude.
• Coordinate with Banqueting and Facilities Management for events.
• Enforce company policies related to cleaning and sanitation.
