Position Overview

Michelin-starred restaurant group seeks a Head Chef for our omakase-style, live-fire Steakhouse. The restaurant features a Chef's counter with 20 seats and a small à la carte menu available in the cocktail bar.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage the kitchen team and work closely with the executive chef to curate a seasonal menu with a focus on Japanese techniques and ingredients.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, especially given the intimate setting.
  3. Interact directly with guests at the counter, providing excellent service.
  4. Ensure food safety procedures are followed.
  5. Train and motivate team members.
  6. Participate in menu development and ingredient selection.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in fine dining restaurants and service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in an open-kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially when multitasking and interacting with guests.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine is not required but a respect for it and a desire to learn are essential.
  • Organizational skills and effective time management.
  • Active practice of food safety procedures.
  • Ability to train and motivate staff.
