Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and assisting with operational issues, including:

• Ensuring excellent customer service by proactively visiting registers and supporting Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
• Handling customer assistance issues at the register
• Assigning store sweeps, monitoring/maintaining cash register supply levels, and ensuring cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots
• Maintaining visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention
• Scheduling and overseeing proper meal and rest breaks in accordance with company policy and state laws
• Assisting in hiring and training new Cashiers and managing disciplinary actions

Qualifications

To qualify as a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED, and have 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience with leadership training
• Be dependable and flexible, able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Demonstrate outgoing, friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and excellent customer interaction skills
• Operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners
• Possess good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized
• Lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force, for durations up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance
• Have strong attention to detail, proficiency in cash handling, and basic math skills
