Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and assisting with operational issues.

• Ensure excellent customer service through proactively visiting registers and providing support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
• Assist with customer assistance issues at the register
• Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels, and uphold cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots
• Maintain visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention
• Schedule and oversee proper execution of meal and rest breaks in accordance with company policy and state laws
• Assist in hiring and training new Cashiers and take disciplinary actions when necessary

Qualifications

To qualify as a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED, and have 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience with leadership training
• Be dependable with a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Display an outgoing, friendly demeanor, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact effectively with customers as a role model
• Operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners
• Possess good communication skills, able to accept direction and participate in a team
• Perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized
• Lift/carry up to 30 lbs., and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force for up to 50 hours
• Have strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, and skills in cash handling and math; able to read, write, and count
